Southern Life Now is a unique Audio, Video and Print Platform developed by Scott Smith and Stan Brown to serve the Southern United States as a regional entertainment platform developed especially for viewers, Listeners and readers in the Southern United States.
Since the age of 14 Georgia native Scott Smith was on-air and well on his way to a successful career in broadcasting. After purchasing his first radio station at age 24, Smith became President and Managing Partner of Chase Broadcasting and built a group of nine radio stations in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. After Selling the company he then moved on to Southern Broadcasting as their Vice President/CEO / Managing Partner in the Georgia, Virginia and Florida areas. His position as Vice President/General Manager of Cox Media Group came in in Athens, Georgia occurred after Cox Media Group purchased Southern Broadcasting in 2008. Smith was instrumental in the successful transition to the Cox family.
Smith then served as VP of Broadcast Technology for all of Cox Media Group in Atlanta. In 2016 Smith started Hometown Broadcast and Digital Media and works daily as it's president. His impressive work-related accomplishments include being appointed by Georgia Governor Roy Barnes to the Board of Advisers of Georgia Public Broadcasting and chosen as “Radio’s Best Managers in 2010” by Radio Ink Magazine and Georgia Trends "Best 40 under 40" business leaders. Smith also serves on the Boards of Southern Media Partners, Radio Elberton,LLC, Goosepond Farms, LLC, Rome Radio Partners,LLC and served many years on the board of The Georgia Association of Broadcasters. Smith is a gifted public speaker and is equally as driven in his community service endeavors.
Smith and his wife Rebecca, an attorney both are passionate community volunteers in the areas of Animal Rescue, Historic Preservation, Cancer treatment and research and supporting Sherpherd's Spinal Center in Atlanta.
